A.G. Faers Memorial Cup

Mr. Faers was a Vice President in 1944 and was President from 1957 to 1961. He rode a Dawes Windrush cycle. His death is recorded in 1970.

The A.G.Faers Memorial Cup is awarded to the club member recording the fastest time at a 100 mile time trial during the season.The cup was presented to the club in 1983 by Mr Faers’ niece. His wife had left £50 in her will with instructions that a cup should be purchased in his memory and be awarded to the club’s fastest 100 miler. The first recipient of this trophy was Ted Tedaldi in 1983. The fastest time was 3h 55m 23s (25.49 mph), recorded by George Unsworth in 2006.
