From today the lockdown rules change again, and Gloucestershire, along with most neighbouring counties, enter “Tier 2”. Under these restrictions, we are allowed to meet outdoors and ride in groups of up to six. However, we believe that we will have to remain outside at any coffee stops, which may not be that appealing at this time of year.

Club rides will re-commence under these restrictions. However, the situation with coffee stops will remain fluid and subject to late changes. It is even possible that there may not be a coffee stop please keep an eye on social media (including TeamApp, below) and bring some snack food. Please arrive in good time to form into socially isolated groups of up to six in King’s Square, and remember the spread out meeting points. Joining rides en-route is discouraged in case it results in a breach of the “rule of 6”.

Please be aware that South Gloucestershire (which includes Falfield) and Warwickshire (anywhere north of Moreton-in-Marsh) have entered Tier 3 restrictions, which are tighter. The rules in Wales are different, and those heading to Wales are urged to check in advance. Club rides will avoid these areas.

Today’s relaxation represents the limits of what is allowed. Each member must consider their own situation, and that of those in their household, in deciding whether it is appropriate to take advantage of the changed rules. As has been previously stated, please do not attend if you have been asked to isolate, or if you are showing any symptoms of the virus.

TeamApp has been used successfully to communicate during lockdown, and will continue to be used. Members are encouraged to join Gloucester City CC on TeamApp. Team App is a phone app, with associated web-page access (https://www.teamapp.com/). It is free to load and use. It is available from your phone App Store (Play store on Android). Look for Gloucester City CC as the team, and contact the Secretary to get enrolled.
