With the Club returning to the Portway course for its annual hill climb there was intense specualtion as to whether John Barnes’ 34 year old course record would finally fall. Despite strong efforts from the new Champion, Patrick (illustrated), and the reigning champion, Steve, it was not to be. Patrick reclaimed the Ed Unsworth Trophy in what might very well be the closest ever result in this competition.

Matt Hill confirmed his victory in the Paul Barnard competition by finishing ahead of Pete Kellow, his closest challenger, in tonight’s race.
