13 Racers left the Square on the first Training Ride of 2023, heading out towards Hartpury, unfortunately one elderly rider dropped off on the Maisemore bank, so the 12 others continued on ,heading for Highleadon & Redmarley where we were met by a group of cyclists in the opposite direction who turned out to be Leadon Vale CC.
We continued on to Bromsberrow, Camers green then onto Welland with the wind behind us. We turned right towards Upton on Severn knowing when we got there, we would be heading back into a horrible head wind.
Turning right onto the A38 towards Tewkesbury we singled out riding in a sort of chain gang mode,where the stronger riders in the group come to for to help the others.
We went through Tewkesbury then towards Stoke orchard & Boddington, where one rider punctured but told the group to continue.
So the group continued all the way back towards the Quays for coffee, where another rider punctured less than a mile to coffee so missed out on the chat at Coffee.
It was a good Group ride where everyone worked together.
50 Miles were covered with nearly 2,000 ft of climbing ,averaging 17.8 mph .
