We had seven for the Tempo ride this week, a few suffering slightly after last night’s nerve shredding entertainment. We climbed up Nut Hill and Buckholt Road, passed through Bisley, and were descending Old Neighbourhood Road when your correspondent suffered a particularly unwelcome visit from the puncture fairy. Good teamwork eventually traced the problem to a brittle sliver of rim tape, it was soon repaired but we were well behind schedule.

The ascent of Hyde Hill got everyone’s legs working again, and from there it was a very pleasant spin through Cherington and Ashley to the coffee stop in Tetbury.

The plan had been to meet the Steady ride at the cafe, but they were leaving just as we arrived. Oh well. The Goods Shed really is an excellent cafe and we lingered quite a while over coffee and goodies.

Home via Frocester and Stonehouse, sharing the work on the headwind sections. Everyone safely back before it got uncomfortably hot.
