Four riders set out from Kings Square on the Tempo Ride destined for Tetbury where we were hoping to arrive in time to observe the national 1 minute silence of remembrance.
We headed out of Gloucester via Nut Hill and Cranham where it became apparent the rides leader’s legs hadn’t woken up, however my companions kindly waited for me. We had a couple of stops on route to Chalford to clear glasses fogged up in the mist before braving a murky descent of Old Neighbourhood Hill, swiftly followed by an ascent of Hyde Hill.
After this we dropped to three when one member had to return for a family engagement but still managed to observe the 1 minute silence on his way home.
The remaining riders made it to Tetbury bang on 11 where we observed our own act of remembrance at the Goods Shed. Drinks were slow to arrive but were enjoyed with excellent cake. We came back via Frocester Hill then Stonehouse where all our legs were starting to feel it. All in all a good day out on the bike.
