The club has been carefully monitoring government regulations, advice from cycling governing bodies, and observing what is happening in practice around our area and now believes there is a case for some club activities to recommence from Sunday 5th July.

We recognise that each individual member has different circumstances with respect to virus risks and consequences for themselves and those in their households. For this reason, it has to be a personal decision as to whether you wish to participate during this period. Please do not attend any club event if you, or anyone in your household, has symptoms, or has been asked to self-isolate.

Members are reminded that the social distancing rules apply at the meeting points and cafe stops.

Sports Rides

Sports rides will start from 5th July, and will be split into groups of six in King’s Square prior to departure. Members will be encouraged to download the route in advance from the Facebook page or Events Calendar.

Chain-gang

Previous experiences with trying to limit chain-gang numbers has proved that such an approach is unlikely to be successful. Consequently, the Club will not be organising chain gangs. If small groups of individual members intend to use the chain-gang circuit, please avoid using the usual time and meeting place to avoid the possibility of large groups inadvertently forming.

Time Trials

Cycling Time Trials, who regulate our club time trials, and on whose behalf we collect the fees, have suspended club events up to and including 12-July. The club will monitor the situation and issue a further announcement nearer that date.

Road Races

We have cancelled this year’s Steve Taylor Memorial Road Race. At the time of writing, it is not clear what the situation is with regard to Cotswold Cycle Racing League .
