The Ewart Smith Trophy is awarded to the fastest club rider in club 25 mile time trials, excluding open events.
Ewart Smith first appears in our records as a Committee member in 1930. He became Treasurer the following year. He was Vice Captain in 1941 and became a Vice President in 1953, a position that he held until his death in 1975, the first year in which this trophy, named in his honour, was won.
