Some riders were more jaded after the excellent annual dinner than others, as seven riders assembled for the flat ride to Dursley. We followed the training ride out of town, but lost them in Quedgeley, where we turned towards Stonebench. I would like to claim perfect planning, but in reality it was pure luck that we were on the sea-wall by the Anchor when the Severn Bore came past.

The well matched group enjoyed the flat lanes for a change, as we looped round through Berkekely to be greated by an over-zealous road closure (was it really necessary to block the road completely?). At excellent coffee and cake at the Old Bank in Dursley, we were pleased to see a recently lapsed member, and rode back with her. Perhaps she will be out again soon.

The route home was diverted from that planned as the other group notified us of another excessively blocked road near Cam Peak.

Very sociable morning out. 51 miles, 2,000′ ascent @15.8mph
