When I saw Dursley on the rides list, I thought that would provide plenty of gravel options. However, after the recent wet weather, a reconnaisance of Folly Wood showed it to be impractical, so the gravel options on the way out were fairly limited. The old railway from Stonehouse to Nailsworth probably has a better surface than the A46, and has the added advantage of being able to “admire?” the Damien Hirst sculptures.

The sun came out for our only gravel, the climb past Lutheridge farm, before our road descent into Dursley, where we had time to admire the bluebells.

After coffee, we had our last climb, to Cam Peak. followed by a largely off-road route home via Halcombe Lane to Cam Station and then the canal, which was busy with a fishing competition. The sun made another appearance, tempting us to divert via the Pelican on the way home.
