Fourteen riders decided to leave on the Training Ride at 8.30 this morning, for a route thru Brookthorpe,Stonehouse, Leonard Stanley and up the scenic way over the cattle grid to Selsley Common a route which a few had never seen, then on to Kingscote. From there they took the back way into Wotton under Edge, anticipating a strong head wind home. The pace was frantic at times with some riders struggling to hang on.

On leaving Wotton to go via Nympsfield & Stinchcombe some 14 % gradients blew some out of the back, all then returning thru the back lanes of Coaley, to Eastington, crossing the A38 to Saul, Epney and back to coffee for a well deserved coffee at the Roastery in Quedgeley. The groupway worked really well, and hopefully everyone got something from it, even the ones who were dropped, and had to make their own way back. There were certainly some tired legs at the end. An average pace of 19- 20 +mph was attained for most, with nearly 3000 ft of climbing. The earlier start meant the roads were quieter and all enjoyed a good morning out.
