At last a ‘dry’ day – by which virtually no rain until mid afternoon!  The roads were very wet from more heavy overnight rain so there was much ponding and several mini-fords to contend with.  Three rides – Sports, B and A to Ledbury. The A, led by the Captain, took in a complex series of lanes, arriving slightly early at 10.50 after 22 pleasant miles. The B ride joined us in the coffee stop at Nice Things around 11.15, having been via Mitcheldean! The4 leader arrived a while after that, having suffered a double pinch puncture!  Many returned directly by the A417, but 12 took the big ford at Eastnor Castle, then lanes to Egg Tump, Pendock and Staunton. 5 called in to sample the beer at The Swan – and were delayed by a heavy shower. A scamper back to Gloucester was slightly damp. The Sustrans path alongside the A417 was noted to be partly under the River Severn – oh dear.  44 miles covered for the A ride.
