All club events rely on volunteers. Perhaps the most important of these are the ones who assist at races, for without them events would be cancelled and riders sent home disappointed. Of those, the Timekeeper stands out as vital, and thanks are due to Malcolm Grainger for his dedication to that role. However, he cannot manage alone and for that reason, the Racing Secretary puts together a Race Calendar that shows not just when and where our TT’s are to be held, but also who is expected to assist at each. The calendar can be downloaded from the “Race Schedule” page of our website, a page which, like the Full Calendar, also lists upcoming races.

There are various other ways of checking whether you have been nominated to help. Opening any one of the race event reveals a wealth of information about the course, the Covid safety arrangements and, at the bottom, a list of “Organisers” that includes the designated volunteers. Clicking on a name there will get you a list of all the events for which you are nominated, as for example https://www.gloscitycc.co.uk/organiser/daryl-stroud/ .

This approach works for all our events, not just races, so nominations for leaders of Club and Social rides can be found the same way. It is worth checking what your obligations are to make sure that you are available. If not, then please contact the Racing Secretary or Club Captain (whose details are on the Contact page) to discuss alternative arrangements.

If all else fails, you could receive a gentle reminder by telephone…
