We had a good ride this morning 13 riders on the B ride and about the same on the sport. On a very cold morning we left Kings Square and headed off up Nuthill and Fiddlers Elbow. This warmed us up.It was then less strenuous as we cycled along the Whiteway to Sapperton where we passed the ever popular Daneway Inn which is closed at the moment and surrounded by forbidding high fencing. Let’s hope it is being done up and will open again in the future. We continued to Coates and and at a complicated junction before the map could be consulted Neville directed us on to a lane which took us to the A333 which we crossed and then into Cotswold Airport with lots of retired sad looking jumbo jets and Boeing 707s and on to the AV8 cafe where we were served refreshments by very friendly and efficient staff. 26 miles and we arrived at one minute to eleven. The whole group left to cycle via Chavenage, Cherrington and Nympsfield for a glorious fast descent down Frocester Hill. Lunch was taken at the newly refurbished George Inn. The pub looks really good, the service was good and the beer excellent. Having put the world to right we all cycled back to Gloucester together completing 62 miles.
