The Prize Giving was again held at Brickhampton Golf Course. It was organised by Joanna Hunek and was attended by over forty guests. The Guest Speaker was Mel Glass. Mel spoke of how, on retirement , he wanted to pursue new interests and studied for a degree in zoology, which has resulted in his working on ecological studies on Minchinhampton Common. He is more well known, though, for riding his penny farthing. He uses it for charity rides but mainly rides to put a smile on people’s faces. After drawing the raffle he offered rides to anyone willing. The height of the saddle made it a daunting proposition, especially when passing through the doorway between bar and dining hall!
Thanks to Gary Ridgeway, photos of the event are now available. The trophy pages have also been updated.
