My apologies but I don’t have much time today so I’m afraid you’ll have to work out what happened on today’s Tempo ride for yourselves from the pictures below.

I’ll give you a few extra clues.
The first picture was taken just north of Hanley Castle and the riders not actively fixing punctures (yes, plural) are delighting in the appearance of blue sky.
Picture two is the excellent Alfrick and Lulsley community cafe/shop/post office, where first class coffee and delicious homemade cake is available for the price we usually pay for just the cake. Highly recommended.
Picture three is just outside Bosbury. Astute observers will notice that this time we’re fixing a puncture with rain jackets on, but don’t worry, it was just the one short sharp shower and we hid under a tree for the worst of it.
The un-photographed remainder of the journey home featured a headwind, all the climbing, and rather wetter roads than we’ve grown used to over the past few weeks. We made our unhurried way in good humour, and without any further intervention from the weather gods or the puncture fairy.
68.4 miles, 2,963 feet of climbing, 15.9 mph.
