The Thinktravel programme for sustainable transport has been successfully running in Gloucestershire for almost four years with the support of grant funding from the Department for (DfT).  During this time the Thinktravel programme has reached many organisations, schools, communities and parishes bringing about change in travel behaviour. In particular, the Sustrans Bike It Plus programme (2012-16) saw 42,102 attendances.  Schools with two years of engagement achieved over 5.5% increase in pupils who travel to school actively, a real legacy to this project.

Although Gloucestershire has not been successful in its bid for DfT funding in this funding cycle, other opportunities to bid to continue Journeys to Jobs and the associated Access to Opportunities programme will be supported by Gloucestershire County Council as a legacy to Thinktravel.

The Thinktravel resources legacy is available online here with links to many cycling and locality maps, plus toolkits for businesses and the community, including schools, parishes  and local groups. The maps include one of Gloucester (avaialbe here) that was developed in cooperation with the Gloucester City Cycling Club
