Club gravel ride to Hopewell colliery

Welcome to the Club’s first gravel ride. Umpaved surfaces are hard pack so although a mountain bike is not required a bike with wide (28mm at a minimum, and preferably at least 32mm) tyres is recommended. The Club meets in Kings’ Square for a ride to take coffee at around eleven o’clock. Most riders then return to Gloucester to be home around one o’clock but there is an optional extension to take in a pub lunch at The George, Newent. Those wishing to join the lunch group will need to do so at Lydney for coffee (leave this ride at Cannop Ponds and take New Road through Parkend) or find their own way from Hopewell. The full route has 22km of unpaved surface.

Destinations are posted in advance and can be downloaded to your smart phone’s calendar (see buttons below) or as a pdf from here if you want a  hard copy. All rides count to the Dancey Trophy. Sign the attendance book or be noted as present at the coffee / lunch stop if you wish to compete.
