14 left the Square on a cold but sunny morning for a combined B ride. Jack and his friend left early but it was good to see some youngsters. The climb of Nuthill seemed particularly hard and Neville decided to make his own way to coffee. After Birdlip it was open skies and blinding sunshine to Caudle Green where the steep descent was OK with only wet leaves as a hazard. The climb back out of the valley was hard with two lots of arrows on the map but all coped admirably. Back down to the valley and the Duntisbournes provided a roller coaster ride to Daglinworth and into Cirencester. The leader knew which cafe he wanted to go to but could not remember the name but found it. It is called the Toro Lounge in Cricklade Street and is excellent, lots of room and very fast service, the terrace looked appealing in the sun but the temperature did not (8°C).
Some of the group left us to head for home so 6 continued via Coates to Miserden in the rain where the pub was full. Plan B took us to the Royal William which was welcoming and the brief shower had stopped.
Various routes were taken to get back to Gloucester but all were equally cold but dry. 54 miles.
