A beautiful spring morning saw the summer bikes out for the first time this year, and what a joy it was to ride them, after months on the winter workhorses. The gratuitously hilly route, which included the Cranham zig-zags, Climperwell, Brimpsfield, Bathurst Arms and the climb out of Coln St Dennis allowed those who had recently returned from Spain to show off their climbing legs.
The group of seven enjoyed the bright conditions and fine views, with arrival at the Prison just after 11:00. Sadly, prison rations were not up to their usual high standard, due to a late delivery, but coffee and flapjack was enjoyed in the sunny courtyard. The easy return route (if any route from Northleach can be described as easy) returned the riders to Gloucester around 1:00.
