It’s the time of year when training programmes are prepared and started. A key element is to have suitable target events and thanks to Tony, our Racing Secretary, we have just the thing for you – the 2019 race calendar. This year we have decided to drop the summer road race, for lack of a volunteer to organize a second. For road men we still have June’s Steve Taylor Memorial race, which now has permission for a larger field of 80 riders. We have also decided to drop the Portway hill climb in favour of the Upton Lane course, which always attracts more entries. Otherwise the usual favourites are there: the Club Championships at 10 and 25 miles, the Three Cities, six events for the Dan Knight series, a roadman’s (and woman’s) format TT, the CEBAR, and, if the stars align as we hope, an interclub event.
