11 riders left the Square on wet roads although the heavy rain had ceased. We took the canal towpath path to avoid the traffic and instead nearly tangled with fishermen’s ridiculously long fishing rods.

Stonebench had been flooded but the waters had receeded leaving a dirty muddy surface.
We reached Slimbridge to cheer on Glos city riders in the TT but some of them went so fast they had passed before we arrived but were able to cheer Daryl and Tim.
Peter, on his new ebike, elegantly dismounted as he had not realised those in front had stopped. No injuries fortunately ahh the excitement of seeing a TT.
It was then back to our beloved lanes which were still very wet with surface water. Ditches were swollen and streams torrents. A lady we passed,  on her phone did not notice her dog fall into the ditch and had to drag the poor dog out by the lead. At Stinchcombe we passed Theo’s Court, named after him?
The sun was out by now,  the temperature 15.4C, roll on Climate change. The wind had veered round to the west and was not so helpful as expected.
At the Ship, Framilode, we met Neville and Tesh and enjoyed sitting outside eating lunch.
An excellent ride on waterlogged lanes achieving 51 miles.
