As a ride leader, you dream of uneventful rides, where there are no mechanicals, navigational problems or splits in the group, and this morning’s ride was just that. To avoid anticipated congestion in Thornbury, the tempo group diverted to Eastwood park garden centre. After last week’s heat, it was a real bonus to have ideal temperatures, and even the climb up Selsley didn’t feel too hot. The downside of an uneventful ride is that finding anything for the report is hard. A new (at least to the ride leader) lane to Damery proved to have a surface more reminiscent of deepest Herefordshire, which managed to shake one bottle cage loose, but that was the only incident of note.

Great to catch up with one of our members who I haven’t seen for some time.
