After much back-seat route planning, 10 departed from Kings Square, taking the scenic route through Sandhurst. We set a fairly sporty pace through Boddington before turning east to Gotherington where one of the group turned home.
We were made to look rather pedestrian by the Tempo ride at Gretton, but all members managed to keep to their correct group which is always a good start.
After a very picturesque transit of Broadway, 8 of the remaining 9 turned off to make the tough climb of Campden Lane, no doubt causing the ride leader to be taken off a few Christmas card lists. Malcolm went the more direct route to make sure there were still cakes available…
We made it to Broadway Tower soon after 11, although it was nearly back to Broadway for 2 riders who took a wrong turn.
Following a particularly pricey piece of cake, we pressed on via Snowshill and Taddington along some lovely roads with some great views. We appeared to follow part of the HONC route, but again managed not to pick up any additional riders by mistake.
We finished by racing down the A40 past Dowdeswell Reservoir to rendezvous at a fairly underwhelming pub on London Road.
