Eight riders departed into the grey mist, cautious of the impending deluge. In search of variable inclines they headed towards Coaley, observing banks festooned with snowdrops – a pleasure to see some brightness in a dull winter.

A momentary hiccup through Far Green was noticed as they turned away from the destination! Here a bank of daffs were in full bloom – seems early in the season for the bright yellow ones to be on display. Alas this was only temporary as the ride leader opted for the off road ascent up to Stinchcombe. Inevitably the heavy drizzling mist was observed obscuring the rolling sunmmit views.

With the wind behind them they zipped over Healthfield towards Berkly and into the Café – dry! However there was precipitation on the way back to Gloucester, so the optional pub stop was abandoned in preference for a charge home! Two selected the canal towpath to Frampton whilst the rest braved a wet A38.

46 or so miles.
