Tredici ciclisti si sono radunati a Kings Square…oops, thirteen cyclists assembled in Kings Square for the Tempo ride to the Buongiorno Café in Dursley.  Was this a case of rule 13?

The weather wasn’t that inspiring but dry at least and the route taken was as published previously.  As we progressed various riders decided that the whole ride was not for them that day for several reasons however; all perfectly reasonable, so the ride leader was not disheartened and the select band continued.

The climb to, and up over Selsley, certainly warmed the legs up with one commenting that it was the workout he needed.  The group split after Nympsfield but that’s no bad thing as it helped traffic movement and later eased café customer service demand.

The descent into Dursley was a fast one with the 30 mph sign often flashing up “SLOW DOWN”!  The café looked reasonably full but tables were found and we helped the barista behind the counter by carrying out coffees procured as the orders were fulfilled.

Room was made for the Steady riders when they arrived.  I would recommend to use again, but be mindful, it’s not as big as The Bank.

The ride home was relatively flat but into a cold headwind.  Nonetheless, a good pace was maintained until folks split homeward at the Rea Swing Bridge.  Caio.
