Nine riders left the square on an overcast Sunday morning, heading out to Nailsworth. The group left Gloucester via Southgate Street and onto the Quays, where we joined the canal towpath. We stayed on here until the Pilot Inn, Hardwicke, and at this point we joined back onto the road. Through Hardwicke and onto the Bristol Road and through to Hunts Grove. At this point we passed through the Road Closed signs and headed towards Haresfield. A right turn just before the railway bridge in Haresfield and through the lane until we joined the Stonehouse Road. A little jaunt down this road and a right turn at Standish Lane and back into the quiet lanes before we joined the A38 Bristol Road. A left turn and a quick sprint along the busy A38 until we turned left at the Forge Inn and through to Nupend. Over the roundabout and towards Eastington. A left turn at Millend Lane and past Eastington Church and Primary School. Turning left at the mill and onto a Restricted Byway where we were greeted by a dog walker who sternly told us we were not supposed to be cycling along this way. We advised the dog walker that it was a Restricted Byway and we could actually make use of this particular route. Through towards Frocester, when we turned at the bottom of the hill heading towards Leonard Stanley. One rider tried to persuade another to head up Frocester and over the top to see if they arrived before the rest of the group. There were no takers so the group pressed on towards Leonard Stanley. A shortcut through the housing estate and back down the hill to the traffic lights at Ryeford when we joined the cycle path on which we stayed right through to Nailsworth. We arrived at The Canteen spot on 11am where refreshments were taken and we were joined by the off-road riders that had left Gloucester earlier in the morning.
After leaving Nailsworth the group followed the cycle path back towards Ryeford when the group split with some heading back towards Gloucester and others heading out for a few more miles before the pub stop.
