With our lead-out men, Wout Van Aert and Rohan Dennis absent, leadout duties fell to Lizzie Deignan and Kasia Niewiadoma, and they did a fine job up Stroud Road, through Haresfield and on to Stonehouse. At Coaley, we thought we had lost a rider, so the leader retraced his steps, until he met the other club ride.

Cam Peak looked beautiful in the sunshine, as we continued through Stinchcombe and on to our big hill of the day. Tortworth was climbed in hot conditions, before a swift descent to coffee.

After coffee, a return through Berkeley was followed by a diversion via Cam Station, to avoid the Longney loop, which is reported to have dangerous new surface dressing.

A great morning out, enjoyed by 15 riders. I will leave it to the riders to claim their pseudonyms. 61 miles, 2,700′ ascent@14.7mph.
