The ride left the Square via the Park to avoid the roadworks in Southgate Street. We followed a bus along Seymour Road leaving it at Tuffley Avenue only to meet it again on Podsmead Road. It was then the traditional route via Haresfield and Frocester. The views were very clear after the overnight rain. We arrived early at Berkeley so the leader decided to use his planned route back before coffee. This involved cycling to the now decommissioned Nuclear power station and a path along the river. Wise words from Jim meant that this idea was abandoned and a return to Berkeley was made via Ham arriving at the cafe at precisely 11.00.
After coffee the group split in more ways than one, some directly to Gloucester, C via Eastington A via Arlingham and T to the Anchor. T met C at the Anchor, T left and A arrived, after lunch C and A returned to Gloucester. What was the colour of the Leader’s socks? It was a relief to get back on the bikes as the temperature had dropped and the wind strengthened fortunately blowing us home.
