Eight left King’s Square for a Slad loop. We had only got to Boots traffic lights when a pedestrian fell over crossing the road. Luckily, Gloucester City were on hand to help him, and after using our first aid training to assess him, we dispatched him to Boots, where we were confident that he would at least be given somewhere warm to sit and recover.
The climb up Nut Hill hurt for those of us who had over-indulged on Christmas Day, but probably did us some good. After that, the mist was a constant nuisance, especially for those that wear glasses, and the damp surface robbed us of confidence when cornering on the Slad descent. Two Stonehouse residents decided that coming back to Gloucester didn’t make any sense, and another continued home from Standish church, while the remainder headed for the Quays and a nice coffee in Corretto’s.
