The event was hosted by Gloucester City Cycling Club and used the U72 course from Maisemore to Ledbury and back. It was a fine day for a great event with drama but good dry conditions, with only a slight breeze.
Joshua Jackson was joined in the winning team by HUUB WattShop regulars Simon Wilson and John Archibald in posting a time of 49-46 (a new course record), just seven seconds better than runners-up ADDFORM Vive le Velo (Jozsef Owen, David Brearley and Adam Duggleby) while the University of Bath CC trio of Harry Codd, Dylan Griffiths and Renzo Casale took third.
Team Bottrill’s women successfully defended their title with a time of 56-40, over three minutes clear of runners-up FTP Racing team with Josie Harcourt, Floren Scrafton and Laura Pittard, while Tactic UK Women’s Race Team were third.
Congatulations also go to the home riders who participated, Dan Kelly, Jeremy Addis, and Matt Hill, who achieved 55:47 on TT bikes and Nick Brown, Damian Dodd. and Will Fraser whose 1:02:34 was achieved on road bikes.
The Club offered prizes for the fastest teams on road bikes and for the fastest team from West DC. These were won by FTP Race Team (Michael David, Anthony Walker, and Russelll Pearce) in 56:40, FTP Race Team (Laura Pittard, Floren Scafton, and Josie Harcourt) in 59:58, and the University of Bath Cycling Club (Harry Codd, Dylan Griffiths, and Renzo Casale) in 50:37.
