Five riders left The Square plus one who had selected the wrong ride. Into the wind and sun was hard but kept us warm. The usual route took us to Stonehouse where we joined the cycle paths which despite the recent heavy rain were quite rideable with care. A tree had blocked the path at Dudbridge but this gave us a photo opportunity as we dismounted to get round it.

It was good to be away from traffic as we encountered only walkers and youngsters learning to ride. The garden centre at Nailsworth has improved considerably and with good cheese  scones and efficient service is worth going back to again.
After coffee we joined with the B ride and ascended Horsley Valley with some effort and nobody had to walk. The reward was the descent of Frocester hill with great views but at speed we were not able to appreciate the panorama.
A ride through the new estate at Eastington meant we encountered a panting runner who turned out to be Darren J , a former club member, good to see him after all those years and he is Iron Man fit.
At lunch we were joined by Les, John W and Ken.
Unfortunately the hard morning wind had now backed and was against us on the final run back to Gloucester.
