Extremely early this Sunday morning, five riders set off to watch the Tour of Britain near Hereford. A social pace through the lanes around Redmarley was broken up by the sprint line in Ledbury. As it was just being painted when we arrived, Ian can claim to have been the first rider over it, beating Mark Cavendish et at by over 1 hour.
Not to be outdone in the competitive spirit, Toby established an early lead in the “Bruce’s Bonus” trophy for the 2017/18 season, although Malcolm G scored an equaliser just before breakfast. After an excellent breakfast, we watched the Tour of Britain fly past near Mordiford. As a real bonus, we managed to get home without any of the forecast bad weather.
