Beautiful weather for February, and a good turn-out this morning. Despite a team at the Frome 10TT, there was a big sports ride, 2 B rides to Dursley, where the Bank was once again a successful stop, and an AA ride to Saul. Very scenic in the Slad Valley and through Uley. Thanks to two Marks and two Simons for leading the rides. There was also a rogue mountain biker who braved Harescombe Hill, the Cotswold Way, Standish Woods, the old railway line to Nailsworth and an off road climb up the Horsley Valley before exploring Dingle Wood on the way into Dursley to join the others at The Bank.

The runs book read “Only four riders in our group today for a manily flat B ride. Leaving Gloucester we headed out on the Bristol Road befroe leavnig the main road for country lanes to Saul Junction, where the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal crosses the line of the earlier Stroudwater Canal, the only crossing of two independently owned canals in the country. From Saul we ventured back onto the A38 before leaving it at the main Dursley roundabout and heading back to Frocester, which means one thing: Frocester Hill.Thankfuly from the top it was all downhill to Dursley. All good, and there’s a feeling of spring in the air.”
