This trophy was given to the club in 1956 to be awarded to the member who is placed highest in the local heat of the British Cycle Touring Competition. This was a national series which was very popular from the mid 1950s but by the 1990s its’ popularity had waned and the competition was discontinued. The cup now goes to the club member who, in the opinion of the committee, has completed the best U.K. tour.
Mr Mcleod is a bit of a mystery. His name does not appear anywhere in the club records except for a photograph of him sitting next to Mr A.G.Faers, the club president, on the top table at the 1960 dinner.
