Tour day 3 – the return journey

Route home is 125 km via Abingdon, Witney, Windrush Valley, Northleach, Charlton Kings. Elevation gain as we rise from the Thames at goring Gap to the cotswold watershed will be 740m. Apart from a short stretch of A417 at the start it avoids busy roads. The B4047 at Witney has a cycle path. Stops are planned at Ashton Pottery (49km) http://www.astonpottery.co.uk/contact-us/how-find-us and the Cotswold Lion Cafe (The Old Prison) at Northleach (88km) http://www.escapetothecotswolds.org.uk/things-to-see/aonb-visitor-centre/ No pub stop because of the difficulty of getting food other than carveries on a Sunday, but Burford at 70km offers several if thirst oevrcomes hunger on the day.
