Due to the Club Spring Tour a depleted number of six left the square on a lovely Spring morning.
With a keen NE wind good time was made tracing the lanes through Elmore and Longney avoiding the temptations of Wholly Gelato and The Ship, Framilode, before we reached Frampton. I decided that a rebellion may occur if we took the canal path so reaching the A38 a quick spin down to Cambridge saw us turn into the Lanes to Slimbridge.
Following the Sustrans route we turned off this to Breadstone before another dalliance with the A38 at Berkeley Road railway bridge. This dalliance was very brief before we turned right on to the B road towards Dursley but before we reached the M5 a right turn took us towards Stinchcombe and the brief sharp climb to the Wootton to Dursley road followed by a nice downhill section which saw us arriving at The Bank almost on time.
Four of us left The Bank and rather slogging it out on the A38 into a headwind we used the back lanes through Cam and Frocester to Stonehouse then onto Haresfield and the small annoying ramps towards Brookthorpe and Matson. 50 miles covered
