The 1st Gloucester Lightweight Ride

On the 18th June 2023 the 1st Gloucester Lightweight Ride for pre 1987 steel road cycles will take place from Maisemore Village Hall. Village Hall will be open from 8.00am for tea/coffee and toilets. There will be a car boot sale (NO TABLES due to to space) for ride participants only.
The route is 36 (Easy/Moderate) or 47 miles (Expert) long and is a celebration of vintage cycling, not a race. A pub stop has been arranged at the Beauchamp Arms in Dymock (book your meal prior to event, phone 01531 590005). The ride will start at 10.00am prompt. Route sheets and a GPS route link will be provided. The event is restricted to pre 1987 cycles as ridden in “Eroica” events:
- Downtube or handlebar controls (no brake lever shifter)
- Rims no deeper than 21mm
- No clipless pedals.
Vintage apparel is preferred. Helmets are not compulsory (at participant’s own responsibility). Entry is £7.00
