Vice President Toby Wooldridge, standing in for the sick President, welcomed sixty-one guests to the Brickhampton Golf Clubhouse. All enjoyed the evening, with the food being generally considered to have been the best for some years.
The Club Speaker was our Media Officer, Daryl Stroud, who went on to welcome the guest Speaker, Andy Cook from Chippenham Wheelers. Andy is a Director of Andy Cook Cycling. He and his wife Jacqui, who use their bikes every day, are also competitive cyclists who have raced and won National medals and broken National records. They’ve toured extensively both within and outside of the UK. Andy presented the trophies, including, as usual, those which fall unwanted to the deserving: Bruce’s Bonus, the Golden Stabilisers, and the Crank of the Year!
A good selection of raffle prizes included a gilet from the Kalas, our clothing supplier, and all went down well.
Thanks are due to the Dinner Secretary, Marie Cook, who deserves the credit for making everything run so smoothly, especially as she was suffering with a heavy cold, and sore knee.
