SUMMARY:Fast (training) Ride to Berkeley
DESCRIPTION:“Fast Rides” are around three hours with a coffee stop at the end. Average Speed of about 18-20 mph. They will split into two groups\, to help with mixed abilities & to encourage new riders\, and to help anyone recovering from injuries. Once two groups are formed\, there is no need to wait at the climbs\, stay in two groups and if anyone falls off the faster group they will hopefully be picked up by the second group. \nSundays Fast Training Ride will follow the Tempo ride route but will be stopping at the end in The Roastery\, forecast looking at a hot one.\n \n“Fast Rides” DO NOT follow “Club Ride” practice\, in that although they always regroup after a climb\, participants must be prepared to be dropped on the run in back to Gloucester over the last 5-10 miles\, if it speeds up at the end of the ride. They do not usually stop for coffee until the end of the ride. Participants need to be capable of 20+ mph bunch riding for at least 3 hours. For an impression of the riding style check out a video of the Tuesday night Chain Gang If you would like to know about our other Sunday ride options see here and for a list of events similar to this one click on event tags below. \nPLEASE FIT YOUR BIKE WITH MUDGUARDS WHEN WEATHER CONDITIONS DICTATE

SUMMARY:Chain Gang
DESCRIPTION:The Gloucester City Cycling Club Chain gang is a regular weekly occurrence. It is a Training event for any member to help them become a more accomplished rider\, whatever their goal. It will improve your discipline when riding in a group at whatever pace you choose on the night\, and will certainly help your fitness. We encourage all members to have a go.\n\nWe ask that when riders assemble at The Longford Inn they avoid obstructing the entrance to the pub for car drivers who are entering.\nSmall Groups will set off from at 6.30 at 2-3 min intervals & various speeds so try and choose your group accordingly. By so doing we aim to avoid holding up a long line of cars\, if we can help it. The group will cross the Haw Bridge or Mythe Causeway\, depending on the weather conditions and light\, then return along the west side of the river and finish at the layby just before the Over roundabout. Please respect all road users when riding in a group.\n\nNote that this event is for GCCC members only. Please respect this: if you bring someone along as a guest\, please encourage them to join. Thank you.

Thank you.

SUMMARY:Fast (training) Ride into the Wye Valley
DESCRIPTION:“Fast Rides” are around three hours with a coffee stop at the end. Average Speed of about 18-20 mph. They will split into two groups\, to help with mixed abilities & to encourage new riders\, and to help anyone recovering from injuries. Once two groups are formed\, there is no need to wait at the climbs\, stay in two groups and if anyone falls off the faster group they will hopefully be picked up by the second group.\nSundays Fast ride is heading into the Wye Valley and a coffee at the Quays to finish. Darren Jewell will be acting as a Road Capt on the day\, to help keep the group together. Darren was a member years ago in the club\, and has a lot of valuable experience\, which I hope you will all help and support on the day. \n\n“Fast Rides” DO NOT follow “Club Ride” practice\, in that although they always regroup after a climb\, participants must be prepared to be dropped on the run in back to Gloucester over the last 5-10 miles\, if it speeds up at the end of the ride.
