DESCRIPTION:The Club’s training ride meets in Kings’ Square. The route is below.\n \nTraining Rides are around three hours with a coffee stop at the end in or around Gloucester. Average Speed of about 19-21 mph. \nTraining Rides DO NOT follow Club Ride rules\, in that although they always regroup after a climb\, participants must be prepared to be dropped on the run in back to Gloucester over the last 5-10 miles\, if it speeds up at the end of the ride. They do not usually stop for coffee until the end of the ride. Participants need to be capable of 20+ mph bunch riding for at least 3 hours. DESCRIPTION:he event is open to riders without a CTT affiliation for an additional charge of £1 to obtain day membership. Juniors must have parental consent. The evening time trials count towards season long competitions as noted in the event category below. All 10 and 25 mile events count towards the season long Club Events Best All Rounder (CEBAR)competition. There are categories within the CEBAR competition for Ladies\, Seniors and Veteran riders in various age groups. DESCRIPTION:The Gloucester City Cycling Club Chain gang starts its regular weekly occurrence on Thurs 31st March. It is a Training event for any member to help them become a more accomplished rider\, whatever their goal. It will improve your discipline when riding in a group at whatever pace you choose on the night\, and will certainly help your fitness\,\nWe encourage all members to have a go.\n\nSmall Groups will set off from The Longford Inn at 6.30 at 2-3 min intervals & various speeds so try and choose your group accordingly. By so doing we aim to avoid holding up a long line of cars\, if we can help it. The group will cross the Haw Bridge or Mythe Causeway\, depending on the weather conditions and light\, then return along the west side of the river and finish at the layby just before the Over roundabout.\n\nPlease respect all road users when riding in a group and be considerate to drivers entering and leaving the Beefeater before and after the ride.\n\nNote that this event is for GCCC members only. Please respect this: if you bring someone along as a guest\, please encourage them to join. Thank you.

DESCRIPTION:The planned 7:00 departure has been cancelled due to weather forecast.;  The Sport Ride will set off later\, at 8 am\, and ride at a faster pace than the Club Ride\, but will stop for coffee. See HERE for more information\, Note that this is the annual pilgrimage to The Black Mountains\, which some riders may choose to cross off road\, following a Club tradition. The day will be a long one\, at least a hundred miles\, and food stops are few and far between. DESCRIPTION:The Club’s training ride meets in Kings’ Square. The route will be added below\, a day or two before the ride. \nTraining Rides are around three hours with a coffee stop at the end in or around Gloucester. Average Speed of about 19-21 mph. \nTraining Rides DO NOT follow Club Ride rules\, in that although they always regroup after a climb\, participants must be prepared to be dropped on the run in back to Gloucester over the last 5-10 miles\, if it speeds up at the end of the ride. They do not usually stop for coffee until the end of the ride. Participants need to be capable of 20+ mph bunch riding for at least 3 hours. DESCRIPTION:At the Sherborne Cinema\, a one-off screening of Time Trial\, the gritty documentary following David Millar in his last season in the pro peloton. Described as ‘A real treat for any cycling fan’ by Cycling Weekly. Tickets are £10 (£8 concessions). Info and a trailer HERE \nThis is a rare chance to see Time Trial\, the inside story of British cyclist David Millar’s final year in the professional peloton\, on the big screen. The access-all-areas film follows Millar through the 2014 season as he builds up for one more shot at the Tour de France. Time Trial presents the gritty reality of professional cycling\, and the physical and mental struggle of a top rider still pursuing their dreams when it would be easier to stop. It shows the details of individual and team race strategies from the inside\, while Millar himself reflects on his relationship with a sport that has brought him both glory and controversy. \nNow a commentator on ITV\, David Millar rode 12 Tours de France\, winning four stages\, including the first stage of the 2000 edition\, which put him in the yellow jersey. In a 17-year professional career\, Millar also won four stages of the Vuelta a Espana and two in the Giro d’Italia. The screening is at the lovely Sherborne Cinema which recently presented the Paris-Roubaix documentary\, A Sunday in Hell\, to a sell-out audience. It is a lovely cinema\, but space is limited so do please book early. You can see a trailer for Time Trial at this link. \nPlease note: Time Trial is rated 18 by the BBFC\, and contains very strong language. Its run time is 82 minutes. \nThis screening of Time Trial is by special arrangement with the Scottish Documentary Institute.

We require riders to bring with them: Pen\, a means of contactless payment\, a face mask\, Front & Rear light (both mandatory)\, Safety pins (to attach race number)\, and Helmet (mandatory). \nAll details are correct as of January 2022\, but subject to change as external events dictate. Check Facebook and or the web site on the day. \nIf unable to marshal as designated it is your responsibility to swap duties and advise\, or with any other queries\, please contact the Racing Secretary. \nSee club website for course information. The evening time trials count towards season long competitions as noted in the event category below. All 10 and 25 mile events count towards the season long Club Events Best All Rounder (CEBAR)competition. There are categories within the CEBAR competition for Ladies\, Seniors and Veteran riders in various age groups. SUMMARY:Women’s Tour of Britain Stage Three: TEWKESBURY TO GLOUCESTER
DESCRIPTION:The Women’s Tour’s first-ever stage in the picturesque county of Gloucestershire will come on stage three of the 2022 race. A spectator-friendly Tewkesbury to Gloucester stage on Wednesday 8 June will play a key role in deciding who is crowned this year’s overall champion. stage three’s route will differ from the Tour of Britain’s\, heading west into the Forest of Dean upon leaving the start\, before finishing in the heart of the cathedral city by Gloucester Docks. With the start and finish locations separated by a little over 10 miles\, fans will easily be able to attend both on race day\, which will further add to the atmosphere at this free-to-watch sporting spectacle. \nThe Women’s Tour will have highlights shown on ITV in the UK and coverage will also be shown worldwide on Eurosport and GCN. \nClick here for more information. \nClub riders are meeting at Jane’s Pantry in Twigworth at 09:30 to ride to Tewkesbury for the start (11:00)\, and then will ride back to Gloucester for the finish at around 2:00. \nAnother group\, for riders who want to go at a steady pace to view it in two locations in the FOD & return back to Gloucester\, are also meeting at Jane’s Pantry at 9:30:

DESCRIPTION:The Gloucester City Cycling Club Chain gang starts its regular weekly occurrence on Thurs 31st March. It is a Training event for any member to help them become a more accomplished rider\, whatever their goal. It will improve your discipline when riding in a group at whatever pace you choose on the night\, and will certainly help your fitness\,\nWe encourage all members to have a go.\n\nSmall Groups will set off from The Longford Inn at 6.30 at 2-3 min intervals & various speeds so try and choose your group accordingly. By so doing we aim to avoid holding up a long line of cars\, if we can help it. The group will cross the Haw Bridge or Mythe Causeway\, depending on the weather conditions and light\, then return along the west side of the river and finish at the layby just before the Over roundabout.\n\nPlease respect all road users when riding in a group and be considerate to drivers entering and leaving the Beefeater before and after the ride.\n\nNote that this event is for GCCC members only. Please respect this: if you bring someone along as a guest\, please encourage them to join. Thank you.
