The Club meets in Kings’ Square for a ride to take coffee at around eleven o’clock. Most riders then return to Gloucester to be home around one o’clock but there is an optional extension to take in a pub lunch at The George\, Newent. Those wishing to join the lunch group will need to do so at Lydney for coffee (leave this ride at Cannop Ponds and take New Road through Parkend) or find their own way from Hopewell. Once two groups are formed\, there is no need to wait at the climbs\, stay in two groups and if anyone falls off the faster group they will hopefully be picked up by the second group. \nTraining Rides DO NOT follow Club Ride practice\, in that although they always regroup after a climb\, participants must be prepared to be dropped on the run in back to Gloucester over the last 5-10 miles\, if it speeds up at the end of the ride. Once two groups are formed\, there is no need to wait at the climbs\, stay in two groups and if anyone falls off the faster group they will hopefully be picked up by the second group. \n \nTraining Rides DO NOT follow Club Ride practice\, in that although they always regroup after a climb\, participants must be prepared to be dropped on the run in back to Gloucester over the last 5-10 miles\, if it speeds up at the end of the ride. They do not usually stop for coffee until the end of the ride. Participants need to be capable of 20+ mph bunch riding for at least 3 hours.
