Gloucester win the 2010 Inter-Club 10!
Yet another win for the Gloucester in the keenly fought Inter-club 10 on the U7B! This time it was very close. Despite near perfect conditions only 46 riders made it to the start line. We fielded 16 and were absent of our fastest crew. Nevertheless, every rider counts and we prevailed with 545 points. Second were Bristol South with 493 points, third were Dursley RC with 446 points and fourth were Severn RC with 241 points. Many thanks to David Boddy of Severn RC for organising the event. Go to the Club TT Results page to view the results.

The Gloucester are fielding eight juniors / juveniles in the Severn RC two-up 25 mile time trial on Sunday 28th February. The course is the U17 on the A38, incorporating two circuits of the Breadstone route. Wish them luck!

TRANSCONTINENTAL RECORD VERIFIED
Ann's Transcontinental ride across
America of 3,021 miles in 13 days 6 hours and 9 minutes has been verified by the
Ultra Marathon Cycling Association as a Record for Ladies 50+. Here is the
link if you want to view her record and the others:
She is the first British lady to achieve this ride.
NEW CLUB 50 RECORD!
George Unsworth screamed round the Cirencester course to record 1.48.18 (2mins off his PB) and beating Phil Griffiths' record of 1.48.29 set in 1970. A massive well done to George. Hope it was on a Pinarello!
Race Across America (RAAM) - RESULT
Ann completed this event but was timed out, having lost 18 hours as the result of a crash. This involved a trip in an ambulance to a local hospital and several hours under observation. She resumed the race 18 hours after the fall, caused by a combination of very aggressive rumble strips and a pile of loose gravel. Thankfully the drainage ditch she ended up in was clear of any large objects. Her speed for the remaining 1,400 miles or so was consequently reduced. She finished with a time of 13 days and 6 hours - just 9 hours outside the cut. Still, Ann has set a new Transcontinental Record for Women 50+, taking some 25 hours off the previous record set in 1992. Blog details on www.raceacrossamerica.org. Many thanks for all those that gave us moral support and posted messages to the site.
