TG HALL 'LOTTERY' 25 MILE TIME TRIAL - RESULTS AND PRIZE WINNERS 2004

Course: U18R

A final fairly good morning on the A38 - conditions were sunny and dry, temperatures hot and rising. The wind was fairly light but from the NE - the return leg was without doubt easier.
Steve Marchant showed great form to win by some 61 seconds - thus taking the Vets, Overall and best 40 to 49 year prizes. It was a close battle for 2nd with just 5 seconds in it between Jon Wynn and Rob Wood.
A number of the Ladies did not start but the winner represented a very good time - 1.03.24 ny Kirsti Robertson in her first 25 mile TT.
Well done to the Dursley and Bath CC teams - another close battle. the rule here is that riders in the top 3 placings for Seniors and Vets do not count to the team. This year it made no difference as neither Dursley nor Bath took the top honours. But if Luk Racing had fielded another rider then it would have proved the point.
The additional prizes were made possible thanks to sponsorship from the C&G. The full list of prize winners can be viewed below the results listing. The 'lottery' concept is to spread the prizes around for a change. Also the rider closest to the hour - well done, Bo - did you hang back? With a 59.59 this was just perfect!
My thanks go to the marshals at Slimbridge and Whitminster round-a-bouts. Also to the Timekeepers, start stewards, signing on and results board, finish area and HQ Girls. With this crew the event went smoothly and allowed me the pleasure (?!) of riding the event as well as organising.
We take rider safety seriously - there were 5 marshals and 19 warning triangles out on the course to try and ensure traffic joining the A38 would be aware. Beyond that it is up to the riders to act reasonably.
