Richard's Story on the Seniors Event on Sunday morning :
Having managed to scrape into the national 10 i knew before hand that i didnt have the form or fitness to do a ride to what i am capable of but i thought i'd give it my best shot. The day dawned very foggy and the wind seemed quite light whilst warming up the fog burned off to give warm sunshine. I was off 25 and the guy a minute in front was a friend so i had something to chase which is where i went wrong from the off i went to quick and after 4 miles i was up by 30 seconds and feeeling good but it went downhill from there and there was nothing i could do about it. I managed to get to 5 miles in 10 minutes 4 seconds but there seemed to be a light headwind on the way back which to make matters worse seemed all up hill well with 2 miles to go i was dead and just going through the motions and finished in 24.19 which was way below what i should have done but i had achieved what i had set out to do and not repeat my performance in the 25 and come last.
