CEBAR TIME TRIAL RESULTS 2000

The purpose of the competition is to encourage more riders to take part in the Club time trial events at Moreton Valance and Maisemore. The competition is open to all club members and will run as follows.
For each 25, 10 (not Dan Knight events) 5, 2.5,  Circuit of Haw Bridge, 3 Cities and the 2 Hill climbs points will be awarded:
1st 10 points ;2nd 9 ;3rd 8 ;4th 7 and so on down to 10th who receives 1 point.
The winner of the competition will be the person with the most points, regardless of the number of events entered. There is no qualifying restriction other than Dan Knight events not counting. eg you could win by just riding two 10s and one Circuit of Haw Bridge, provided you accumulated sufficient points.
There are two categories one for Seniors and one for Vets.
A Medal will be presented to the two winners at the end of the season - at the Annual Dinner of course.

17th and final event - Roadmans Hill Climb, 30/8/2000 - the final trial!  A good evening rather spoilt by the failure of a stopwatch.   Commiserations to those who did not get a time. Otherwise the deserved winner was Ian Gait with 7.21.  The Cebar Senior was clinched by Tony Dix, pipping Simon Osborne by one point.

16th event - Portway Hill Climb, 22/8/2000. A good evening saw 14 foolish cyclists tackle the lung-bursting climb of Portway. This number included 4 fast non-club members, including the ever-green Ian Gait, who came close to the club record of 2.28 set by John Barnes in 1992.  I am glad to report that George Unsworth made a full recovery shortly after the event, having looked rather unwell after his superb effort. Steady, Tiger!

7th event - 31/5/2000. 2.5 and 5 mile TT.
Conditions - grey and damp turning to light rain, a good breeze. The first outing on the new sprinters course, with lots of corners a greasy surface was not ideal. That's my excuse! In the absence of the controller (not fat), the CEBAR overall positions have not been calculated - to be done on Alastair's return.
