Roadmans Hillclimb : 21/08/02.
A nice warm evening for the first HC and penultimate event in the season. Held for the 2nd year on the Sanitorium Road, an easy 2.3mile course with some down as well as up. Well done to George for another win.

3 Cities, 81 mile TT : 18/08/02.
A dull morning with no wind - ideal for the 5 racing riders that turned up. Ed and George had a very fast start, and by Tewkesbury were on to beat the record held by John Barnes (3.23.23). But only if they could maintain the speed. They did not! A niggling head wind from the Trumpet put paid to a number of hopes for good times.  Andy Jarvis did his usual measured ride to win the trophy. Ed beat George - for the first time in a time trial. Paul came in just over 4 hours - due to going off course early on in the event. 3 silver medals and 2 bronze to collect at the dinner in November.

CLUB 25 MILE CHAMPIONSHIP : 07/08/02.
A very wet evening - so wet that the Police closed Maisemore road at 7.50pm, thus the event was postponed. The Championship will be included as part of the October 25 to be held on the Maisemore - Ledbury course on Sunday 6th October.  This is an open event so you will need to complete the RTTC entry form and submit to the organiser, Ian Humble. Call him for details or check the page HERE.

CLUB 10 MILE CHAMPIONSHIP : 31/07/02.
A wet evening but excellent conditions - no wind and good air making for fast times. A battle for Championship position was won by in-form George Unsworth (see various reports in the Citizen). Paul Barnard did a PB for 3rd place overall and first Vet. Tom Veale is the Junior Champion with another cracking ride.  No ladies from the club took part, so no champion this year.  Steve Best now holds the course record with a splendid 22.22. Easy to remember, too!

11th event : 17/07/02 25 mile TT - A417 Maisemore - Ledbury (U72).
Another surprisingly good evening - headwind to Ledbury, very fast return, same as last time. The 2 lads who had been on the Pinarello ride in Italy took the honours - easily.

10th event : 03/07/02 25 mile TT - A417 Maisemore - Ledbury (U72).
A surprisingly good evening - headwind to Ledbury, very fast return under blue skies after a day of rain. This is a nice sporting course.  George has set a new Club record on this course - beating the previous best set by Andy Jarvis (1.02.12 in the Open on 1/10/2000).

7th : 29/05/2002 - 1 kilometer Sprint.  A breezy evening, but importantly dry.  The course is based near Staverton village - and the racers race with the benefit of a tailwind. 3 opportunities are available - best one counts for the points, but all rides are shown.
