BRUCES BONUS

Introduction.
This fine trophy is a brass track pump lovingly mounted on a nice piece of wood. It looks a treat on the mantelpiece!
To win this one you have to gain the most punctures on club runs. By this I mean all social club rides listed on the Runs List (i.e. not Sports Rides), including tours and occasional official mid-week outings. The deflation must take place on the ride itself - not at the Square - and be repaired. Repairs conducted at home do not count! A repair involves fixing or replacing the inner tube / tub. A note of all such unfortunate incidents is maintained in the Runs Book. The points tie in with the Dancey Trophy - starting in September, finishing in August inclusive.

2007 / 2008 Season - up to 25/05/2008

Once again an early lead can often prove to be winning. Doh!

2006 / 2007 Season - the final position

A large number are participants but not many deflations each: Neville has clung on to his early lead but Captain Dave Brown made a last ditch effort to share the prize!

2005 / 2006 Season

Final Results:  Bruce’s Bonus is still not a popular competition this year, despite 13 individual contenders, unusually many but only three with more than one puncture.  Clearly nobody uses those award-winning  GaitorSkins any more! Ali G has pipped Theo and John Flint at the end to claim the prize! 

2004 - 2005 SEASON

Just goes to show an all-year round performance is required. Laura took a commanding lead on the October Tour but did not puncture again. Meanwhile Dave has been puncturing away to gain the trophy.

10/04/05 : Dave getting to grips with the rear wheel. The tube had around 6 pinch-punctures - oops! But it only counts as one point.

2003 - 2004 SEASON - to 01/02/04

A record 11 punctures all told on the October tour plus a few others here and there got the chase for Bruces Bonus off to a flying start!  Young Ed took an early lead whilst on the October Tour but Theo has since reeled him in. The Captain has just joined them to make an impressive leading triplet. Malcolm and his exploding tubes is next in line.  A large group on 1 each. The purchase of Schwalbe Marathons by certain riders in an attempt to avoid punctures appears to be working as we have been puncture-free for some time now.

2002 - 2003 SEASON - FINAL SCORES.
Theo and Daryl are joint winners with a splendid 5 punctures each.   This season has seen a record number of deflations - well, it is a very nice trophy!

2001 - 2002 SEASON - FINAL POSITIONS
Neil is THE WINNER with 4 punctures - after incurring 3 deflations on the first day of the March tour to Rhyader. 2nd place saw a draw between Dave and Toby - shame, first spot is the only one that counts!
