2008 Results.  10/08/2008.  A rather windy and at times (mainly around Hereford) wet outing for 4 brave cyclists.  Nathan took the wrong turn at Tewkesbury (normally people get lost in Worcester or Hereford!) and then punctured in the rain just before Hereford! Guy charged round on his first outing of this great event. Young Claire, also on her first solo 3 Cities race, did well too.

Pos Name Name Time
1 Guy Preece 3.40.49
2 Toby Wooldridge 4.02.04
3 Nathan Monk 4.33.06
4 Claire Taylor 4.34.15

2007 Results.  12 August 2007.  Well, the record fell to George with a brilliant ride in not brilliant conditions. You could say at least it was not too hot!  Claire and Malcolm set a new standard for the mixed tandem, despite bending the rear wheel axle in the process - such power, those two!

Psn Name Time
1 George Unsworth 3.20.26
2 Steve Evans 3.57.41
3 Andy Jarvis (Tourist) 4.03.54
4 Malcolm & Claire Taylor 4.29.01

2006 Results.  13 August 2006.  This was a windy and grey affair but no rain. The leg to Worcester was made difficult by the unusual direction of the wind (NW), however compensation was gained for the Hereford section. The homeward leg was a breeze - if you had the energy!  John Barns' record survived, but only just - a mere 32 seconds. This is the closest anyone has come to beating it, so George is either sick as a dog or well chuffed all the same - bearing in mind the conditions on the day this was a great ride.

2004 Results, 15/08/04.  Helpers: Alison Jarvis.   Conditions - near perfect, no wind and overcast / cool to warm.  A good number of starters but two DNF, Ian at Worcester and John at Hereford. A city (or 2) too far! George came reasonably close to the John Barnes record (3.23). The tandem pair of Andy and John Jarvis set a new record - blasting the previous record set way back in the 1950's. The Tourist trophy was taken by Phil Hogsflesh.  Well done to all medal-winners.

2003 Results, 17/08/2003.   A good field for this classic event. Conditions were generally good with a bit of a breeze from the NE that got up during the morning. Dry and cloudy with sunny spells - a good temperature of around 20 - 24c. George did a great unassisted ride to come reasonably close to Barnies record (3.23.23) and win the Boakes Shield whilst Andy Jarvis cruised home in 2nd. Chris Washbrook took the Tourist Shield in a battle with Phil Robinson - both win a Silver medal.

2002 Results : 18/08/02.
A dull morning with no wind - ideal for the 5 racing riders that turned up. Ed and George had a very fast start, and by Tewkesbury were on to beat the record held by John Barnes (3.23.23). But only if they could maintain the speed. They did not! A niggling head wind from the Trumpet put paid to a number of hopes for good times.  Andy Jarvis did his usual measured ride to win the trophy. Ed beat George - for the first time in a time trial. Paul came in just over 4 hours - due to going off course early on in the event. 3 silver medals and 2 bronze to collect at the dinner in November.
