The Trophy table
The dinner, held at Brickhampton Golf Resort, was a tremendous success. This was thanks in no small part to Marie Cook organizing the event, Derek Dowdeswell the trophies, and Colin Edmonds the menus. Marie was presented with the T.G.Hall Clubman of the Year trophy. This, and the other serious trophies, were presented by the guest speaker, Alan Murchison, after his interesting and illuminating speech on nutrition and sport. Alan generously chose to donate his fee to the charity Guide Dogs for the Blind. Before Alan spoke, Gary Ridgway had reminisced about changes wrought in the 21 years since he first spoke at a Club dinner then presented the Golden Stabilizer to Nigel Jones and Crank of the Year to Alistair Goldie.
After the meal and presentations came the raffle where a table of prizes included several helmets presented by the Club’s sponsor, Rudy Project, and various cycle accessories provided at a generous discount by Cheltenham Cycles.
